Laura Parkes
Positive Behaviour Support Services Newcastle was founded by Laura Parkes in March 2021. Laura has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with First Class Honours, is a Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) and a licenced Thrive Practitioner. She has been working with children and people with additional needs for over 5 years, and particularly enjoys working within the fields of Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Laura offers services to both neurotypical and neurodiverse populations. Laura predominantly adopts the modalities of applied behaviour analysis, positive behaviour support, trauma informed practice and the Thrive Approach in her work, and is passionate about the use of evidence-based practice. She views behaviour support holistically and puts great emphasis on truly getting to know the people she works with and their support networks, to provide relevant and suitable recommendations tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
Laura offers behaviour support services to both private clients and those accessing funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Laura is endorsed at the Advanced behaviour specialist level within the NDIS capability framework.
